From the Collection: 3 Cubic Feet (The Mary Ward Collection fills 253 folders and 3 linear feet of standard size record collection boxes. The dates range from approximately 1940 to 1989. These are the collective writings, research, and manuscripts from Mary Ward who was an historical and social writer in the mid 20th century. The collection mostly consists of original writings and notes developed over the author's lifetime. There are several short stories consisting of corrected/edited copies. There are also several short stories with the publishers rejection or acceptance note. Extensive research was done on Curtain Village, PA. There are detailed correspondences between Mary Ward and several of the village's residences. Some small maps outlining the village are included in this correspondence. The collection also contains travel information and dairies collected and written by Mary Ward during the 1960s, 1970s, and the 1980s. )
